Nicole Chaladoff, MSW, LCSW, DVS
My name is Nicole Chaladoff, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Domestic Violence Specialist (DVS) in the State of New Jersey. I earned my Master's Degree in Social Work and certificate in Violence Against Women and Children from Rutgers University. I received certification and training to provide Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to children and adolescents ages 3-18 years old.
My social work experience began through volunteering in a non-profit agency for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and their children almost 10 years ago. Since then, I have been working across residential, community, and school settings in Morris and Sussex County.
I have specialized training in working with child and adult survivors experiencing interpersonal violence, PTSD, Developmental Trauma, anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, and family conflict.
In addition to providing therapy, I seek to enhance justice for survivors on a larger scale. My work was published in the article titled, “Understanding and responding to campus sexual assault: A guide to climate assessment for colleges and universities: Chapter 6: Action Planning and Dissemination”, a section of the White House’s task force’s guide to address sexual violence on college campuses. I have also worked to provide support, training, and consultation to child protective workers to increase safety, stability, and wellbeing and improve outcomes for children and their families in domestic violence situations involved with The Department of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P).
Using a compassionate, strengths-based approach, I will collaborate with you to create a safe space where you feel comfortable addressing the areas of your life that are holding you back from reaching your goals. I incorporate various clinical interventions, including: Trauma Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Family Therapy, Play Therapy, Nurtured Heart Approach, and expressive arts, to name a few. I also have a Certified Therapy Dog, Sadie, who supports me in providing Animal-Assisted Psychotherapy!
Your therapy experience will be individualized and tailored to your unique needs. I believe my ability to engage clients in the process through my use of self, creativity, warm demeanor, and sense of humor are my greatest tools as a therapist. I look forward to supporting you on your journey of self-discovery and healing!
